If you're using video on the web, you'll know doubt get frustrated at how long it takes to upload and play on your site.

Well this video is to help you condense the 'file size' of the video without compremising the quality of the video to be played on the web.

 

Here are the steps:

Go to  handbrake.fr and download the program from the download page.

Once you have downloaded the Handbrake software and installed it on your computer, you can begin the conversion process.

Open the Handbrake software

1. Handbrake will ask you for your original video source file – so you would go ahead and select your original video file from the file browser
2. Select a destination for your video file by clicking the “browse” button. I usually name the video slightly different so you can tell the difference between the original and the new one. If you do not pick a destination for the optimized file, it will most likely default to your computer desktop
3. Select the ‘iPhone and iPod Touch’ preset from the presets menu on the right of your Handbrake window
4. Tick the “web optimized” check box (this will deselect the ‘iPhone and iPod Touch’ setting from the presets – don’t worry about this).
5. Ensure the format is set to ‘MP4′.
6. Click the 'Advanced' tab in the middle of the page
7. Select '4' for 'reference frames'.
8. Click the 'Audio' tab in the middle of the page.
9. Select '128' for 'Bitrate'
10. Click on 'Picture Settings' up the top of the program window.
11. Select the 'width and height' you want to choose
    Typical Sizes are: (go for 1280 x 720 if in doubt - that'll do)
    1920 x 1080
    1280 x 720
    768 x 432
    640 x 360
    512 x 288
    256 x 144
12. Click the “Start” button at the top of your screen (green button). This will start the conversion process.

When the process is complete, the software will notify you. Your new web optimized video is now ready.

Take that file and upload it to youtube etc.
