Hi everybody! Casey Gollan here. Hopefully the audio is well. Just let me know if it isn't.
Just thought I'd start off this year 2017 with a bit of a guide on how you can set yourself up for maximum success in 2017.
So I'll go through that just quickly. I've got my first Add10 client coaching call happening in about 20 minutes I think it is. So I better keep it short and sweet but packed with content and packed with awesomeness so you can go and have an epic 2017.
So if you're just joining us, just tuning in just let me know. Hey, if you're back at work or if you're off holidaying. And if you're off holidaying I want to know where you are holidaying from because we all love a good story. So if you are holidaying let us know.
So anyway 2017. So one of the processes I've been doing for the last I think, it’s 2017 now, about four or five years is planning out my year. And so if you haven't done this process or you are doing it, just get some great tips on here on how to plan out your year.
There's a lot of areas you can plan out. You can plan out your financials. You can plan out your marketing. But in particular, I just want you to plan out your entire 2017 on a calendar.
And if you want to I've got a free worksheet which (let me just get my iPad and I'll just open up my iPad and show you) I can send you this free calendar here where you can plan out your 2017 like it is that I've done here.
So there's some key elements you want to do to plan out your year, your 2017. There's a number of reasons why.
Number 1. If you don't plan out your year you kind of don't do your new year’s resolutions and then you start January and all of a sudden you've forgotten about your resolutions or you've just broken them straight away and you aren't in a gear to clear awesomeness in 2017 or in that year you started.
So it's really important to start the year with a plan. And if you've got a plan in this visual like this and it's on the wall like it is for me in my recording studio here. I can always turn at it and check at a glance.
So for example (this will be reverse to you). Let me just show you and see if I can turn it around here.
So I've got my planner up here and in January I've got all the key areas that I'm working on. So for example I always block out the public holidays. Why do you want to block out public holidays it’s because that's going to affect your number of trading days for you to be able to generate sales, generate profit.
And then what you want to do obviously I've got areas where I blocked out the weekends which is this darker gray here. And then what I've done is I've gone through and blocked out all school holidays for my son that’s at school so we know when all the school holidays are then we can plan our holidays around those.
So the pink areas are the holidays that we've got planned out for the year. And then of course my little workshops I put in here two days for Add10. I call them Add10 Accelerators and then I can also dumped in holidays for my team, birthdays for my team, birthdays for my family and then I can book in sales events. So this is for my business.
Your business might be different. So for example I've got a client as a venue hire business and venue hires are really popular around the weekends. But there's also key times in a year so for example Christmastime when it's really important for him in his business. So you could be doing the same thing.
So if I was you I would be getting a calendar. Now you can go to Bunnings, you can go to Officeworks or you can go to kikki.K or get my worksheets.
If you want my diary I'm happy to send it to you. I'll PM it to you so just start typing in DIARY or just type in 2017 and I'll PM you my diary that I use and you can use it for your business. Print it out on a nice A2 or A1 sheet of paper and then you can plan your year in advance.
So start with the big things that are important to you. Things like holidays, things like home with your family, things like key areas of development for your business. So it might be say a particular sales period. So for example, in some industries there might be some particular weeks or months of the year that are really fertile to getting or driving your sales or to hiring team members. So January's always a great team time to hire team members.
So you want to pick out key areas in your year and plan them into your calendar. And then, of course, from the planning then your strategy comes from that and then your execution comes from that as well.
So if you want to get a great year for 2017 get yourself a calendar. Get yourself the key elements that you want to put into your calendar, whether that's personal, whether it's professional, whether it's professional development, whether that is holidays, whether that is sales events for your business, whether that's marketing events for your business, whether that's key danger periods for your business of which you might want to put into there to then create a strategy to make it a key growth time for your business or key parts to it.
So in my Add10 Coaching, we run coaching calls on this where I take my clients through a specific process. We go through about five-step process to put this together but I'm happy to send you the first part of that process which is a calendar and a couple of notes on how to do that for you.
So once again, all you need to do is just put into the comments section 2017 and I'll PM that to you myself or my team.
So there you go. That's my 2017. Hopefully you've got a plan like this for your business up on your wall in your business. If you haven't just type in 2017 and I'll send you the notes on how to do that for your business.
Thanks for listening and you take care. I've got to get on my call with my clients. You take care. Have an epic 2017. Cheers, bye.
