Hi there and welcome to the ADD10GROWSHOW. This is episode number 12 and I'm Casey Gollan. Thanks for listening in.
Before we start, have a look at the day. It's just gorgeous out there, isn't it? This is in Adelaide. I'm behind my wife's studio. Got a Pilates van in the background there and it's just so gorgeous day, about 30 degrees here. And it's just so beautiful weather.
So let's talk about why you should be using vehicle signage. I've got the van in the background and how it can help grow your business. Why you should do that? Obviously, lead generation and branding. That’s a no-no-brainer.
But also talk to your accountant, your bookkeeper about getting a right vehicle to give you the best sort of tax brag you can. There's a threshold once you get a vehicle that has a certain capacity. You never have to fill out a log book.
So in this particular van that we've got, it's over the threshold and so we never have to write a log book for the malls down in this particular vehicle which is awesome because no one likes to bring a log book. So get on to that.
Number two, the lead generation, the branding is just crucial. If you have a look at this, this particular vehicle. It's huge in terms of the branding. So right there. And if you go and you put this vehicle on a major therapy next to someone near your location they're gonna see your brand.
That's the brand of the business. They can see that, it's the colors of the business, it's got the URL and it's got the phone numbers as well. That's how to execute beautiful vehicle signage.
Now, some people they wanted to just look around the van and you can see how it's done. So some people when they go to do their vehicle signage they wanted to save money and they just got a little patch done on their vehicle.
I suggest you go big time. You gonna use a van like this for years. And if you can use it strategically or if you can put it on any streets that are near your business, around your business and you just driving this around you gotta be promoting your business in a number of ways.
And it's gonna get people knowing about you, liking you and trusting you. Particularly if you got consistent look and a consistent brand which is what we went with my wife's Pilates business. It's a fabulous thing. So how do you use them?
One of my clients, Steve Rollings of AnyTime Fitness, who is also in the pizza industry. And what he used to do. He got a trailer and he parked it on the major therapies when workers were coming home. And he had a big A-frame on the back of the trailer and had his pizzas that he was selling.
And people would stop in their cars at traffic lights and see the signage and then they would call up and order their pizzas. That's one of his great strategies that he had for his business.
Now there's also a business from a franchise that's called 1-800-GOT-JUNK I think it is. It could be different in the phone number. But anyway it's got a "junk". And they got a signage right in their trucks and their vehicles, much like what we've done, big and bold.
And then they put it, they position it on major therapies with their market. The particular suburbs that their market lives in. They drive passed those vehicles. It's fantastic signage.
'Cuz it's mobile, you don't have to have a permit for it so you can get away with some cool stuff. Now you might need to check your counsels on what the regulations out there. But how would you use this?
If you've got a location like an offline site, I'll be parking this around the offline site particularly the major therapies where your customers would be driving. And you could go there in the morning, park it in a particular area and then when you're on the way to work traffic.
Pick it up during the day, use it and then park it at the, you know, what was it’s called? Drive time when people are driving home from work.
It's a couple of good ideas for you. So that's how you do effective vehicle signage that's one of few reasons why you should do it. And rather going small, go big! Get the whole thing wrapped. I think this particular vehicle itself, I think it was about $5,000 or something like that to get wrapped. Maybe 3 to 5 thousand dollars.
And it's a beautiful execution. It gets the message across very quickly. It supports all the marketing that my wife does in the local area so people are getting multiple engagements through all different channels that we're doing. Whether it's on social media, the internet, layered backdrops, shopping center promos and then this vehicle to back it all up.
Fantastic. It works awesome. You should be doing it for your business. Go out there and do epic things. Thanks for listening.
